High School Mind Meld

At the end of 2024, a librarian at Mountain View High School reached out to me and asked if I would be willing to come talk to students at her school about my journey as a street artist. I thought it sounded like a fun opportunity, so I joyfully agreed. And then came the details about my visit–it wasn't just one art class I'd be speaking to, like how I envisioned it going down. It was the entire 9th grade.

All 540 of them. 7 class periods, about 80 students at a time. For 50 minutes each period.

WHAT? I couldn't believe it. I'm no public speaker, but I'm a woman of my word, so I put together a slideshow presentation that told my story and how I became a street artist. The students then were able to ask me questions, many of which I had never pondered before. After, I had all of the students do an activity where they got to try their own hand at street art and I got to see what kinds of messages they would put out into the world if given the opportunity.

It was an amazing experience and one I'll never forget. Thank you, Mountain View High School!
